This week in the studio we tackled topics and learned a lot about simply helping others. We were graced with the presence of Carolyn Murray, a mother who lost her son, to gun violence. She talked about how she is now empowering the community to help stop gun violence and connect with each other to get rid of this problem. She was a wonderful example of how to direct the Future of Our Youth in the right way.
Professional boxer, David Diaz, was on set informing us about what he does to help the Future of Our Youth by demonstrating how to correctly deal with gang violence. He teaches the children valuable lessons on fighting and making sure they understand the dangers of gangs.
Alicia Kozakiewicz joined Whitney and talked about her experience with Online Predators and how she has overcome the struggle and is now informing many about her story. Follow her story at the www.aliciaproject.com!
Whitney also had the pleasure of meeting two inspiring individuals who are helping others with disabilities and spreading awareness of autism. Whitney talked with Steve Pemberton of Walgreens who wrote a book on child abuse, A Chance in The World and is now embracing your chance to live and inspiring others. He was joined by Tom Dempsey who is the Transition Program Administrator for Have Dreams. Have Dreams aspires to help children with autism improve their abilities to learn, function independently and socialize so that they may realize their full potential and develop into contributing members of their communities. Learn more about each of these missions at www.havedreams.org and www.chanceintheworld.com
Over the weekend Whitney was invited to host a special event in Geneva, IL for the Zellmer Childhood Disease Foundation.
